The FoCSB committee consists of a number of elected members, made up of parents, teachers and other elected community members, of which 3 Officers hold the positions of Chair, Treasurer and Secretary.
The current committee members can be seen by clicking here.
The committee meet on a regular basis usually once a month, with smaller working groups meeting as necessary to organise the larger, more time-consuming events.
Annual General Meeting (AGM)
Our Annual General Meeting is held at the beginning of the academic year and this is the opportunity for all parents to come along and hear in more detail about events run, funds raised and how the money has been spent. We also elect our new committee at this meeting.
We have class representatives (reps) with 2 reps per class. They provide a link between individual class parents and the FoCBS committee. Class rep duties are commonly divided between the two reps. Support from the class representatives contribute to the efficient running and success of our main events. They will be the point of contact for ticket requests and sales. They will also organise rotas of help and donations, with the support of the FoCBS committee.
If you are interested in joining the committee or acting as a class representative, please speak to any member of the committee or contact us for further information.
Why Are We A Registered Charity?
It is a legal requirement that organisations such as ours, with an annual income in excess of £5,000, register with the Charity Commission. As a Charity we must abide by Charity Commission rules and regulations and we are bound by a constitution. Our constitution sets out rules about how we operate and how we conduct ourselves. A copy is available here.
Being a Registered Charity allows us to:
- raise funds more easily from grant giving trusts, local businesses etc
- take advantage of charity matched giving schemes.
FoCSB is also a member of the NCPTA, which is national charity that advances education and supports over 1300 PTAs, PAs and Friends group throughout the UK.
